Das Endocannabinoid 2-Arachidonoylglycerol fördert die Spermienentwicklung durch die Aktivierung von Cannabinoid-2-Rezeptoren

Die genaue Rolle des Endocannabinoidsystems (ECS) während der Spermatogenese ist nicht geklärt. Wissenschaftler der Tor-Vergata-Universität von Rom (Italien) und der Endocannabinoid-Forschungsgruppe des Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Pozzuoli, Italien) haben gereinigte Keimzellfraktionen, die repräsentativ für alle Phasen der Spermatogenese sind, und Primärkulturen von Spermatogonien verwendet, um nachzuweisen, dass männliche Keimzellen von Mäusen ein aktives und vollständiges ECS besitzen [Grimaldi et al. Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 2009;106:11131-6]. Sie fanden, dass eine autokrine Endocannabinoid-Signalgebung während der Spermatogenese funktionsfähig sein könnte, und dass das ECS während der Meiose moduliert wird, mit maximalen Spiegeln des Endocannabinoids 2-Arachidonoylglycerol vor der Meiose. Zudem wurde gezeigt, dass das Endocannabinoid 2-Arachidonylglycerol die Entwicklung der Meiose von Keimzellen durch eine Aktivierung von Typ-2-Cannabinoidrezeptoren (CB2) und dadurch eine Zunahme der Expression von frühen meiotischen Prophase-Gene fördert.
